Welcome to Week 2 of Term 3. What a huge learning week we have had around Blogs.  Thanks for your patience while we get these all sorted.  These Blogs are where children are keeping a record of their learning and reflections, which you will see on Seesaw throughout the term.

TIMETABLE
Over the last few years, we have often integrated Literacy in with our Inquiry as much as possible (which meant that we were doing Literacy and Inquiry during the mid and last sessions of the day).

We will be fully integrating our Literacy, Mathematics and Digital Technologies programmes, into the great 'Youtube/Website Company Challenge!' Hōpara and Matawara will be combining their talents, in across team groups of 5 students, and will be  creating their own company. Each company will need to develop their vision and focus, and create content for their website that others will want to learn from or view. We can't wait to see what the kids come up with!

This programme will run Monday - Wednesday from 9:15am - 12:30pm and some time on a Friday, and will incorporate our core curriculum subjects, in addition to Leadership and our Pastoral Care programmes. Each student has their own 'home teacher' (not necessarily their 'team' teacher) who will be guiding them through this exciting learning, in addition to the associated assessment within it.

NOTE - you may receive Seesaw posts from teachers other than your child's team teachers this term.

DATES TO NOTE AROUND THIS - 

The following are workshops that will run to inform you about the processes we are following for this learning. Feel free to attend all!

* Attitude (from the Parenting Place) - coming to Launch the idea of an Online Company, and the responsibility within this to all of the students of ASPLORE - FRIDAY week 2 at 9:30am. 
* After the Attitude presentation, if you have any questions about how to access your child's Blog via Seesaw, then please come and see us, and we will help you through this.  OR, email us so we can make some changes from our end.

* Parent information Evening - 14 August - 5pm

DEVICES AND APPS
If your child has a device that they can bring to school, this would be beneficial, as the use of devices will be huge amongst our teams.  The following apps or programmes would be helpful to have: Doink greenscreen and animation, stopmotion, imovie, google slides, google docs, google email, google drive.

FIELD PLAYING
Due to our winter conditions, if your child wants to play on the grass, they will need a change of mufti.
